Chideock Parish Council

Planning

Chideock Parish Council is a Statutory Consultee for Dorset Council (the Local Planning Authority) planning applications within Chideock Parish and for those in adjoining parishes where the proposal is near the parish boundary.

All applications are determined by the Local Planning Authority, and their decision must be based on the Adopted Local Plan, the National Planning Policy Framework, Supplementary Planning Guidance and Material Planning Considerations. Parish Council representations are taken into consideration by the planning officers.

An application may be approved by a Planning Officer under delegated powers, or may be considered by the LPA Planning Committee, in which case members of the public and the Parish Council have a right to attend and speak (for a maximum of 3 minutes).

Dorset Council is also responsible for Minerals and Waste. Again, Parish Councils are Statutory Consultees for any planning applications.
