Chideock Parish Council

Chideock Parish Council is a Statutory Consultee for West Dorset District Council (the Local Planning Authority) planning applications within Chideock Parish and for those in adjoining parishes where the proposal is near the parish boundary.

All applications are determined by the Local Planning Authority, and their decision must be based on the Adopted West Dorset Local Plan, the National Planning Policy Framework, Supplementary Planning Guidance and Material Planning Considerations. Parish Council representations are taken into consideration by the planning officers.

An application may be approved by a Planning Officer under delegated powers, or may be considered by the LPA Planning Committee, in which case members of the public and the Parish Council have a right to attend and speak (for a maximum of 3 minutes).

Dorset County Council Planning Department is responsible for Minerals, Waste, and County Council developments such as schools. Again, Parish Councils are Statutory Consultees for any planning applications.
