Annual Village Meeting

The requirement for an Annual Village / Parish Meeting is set out in the 1972 Local Government Act and must be held between 1 March and 1 June each year.

The Annual Village Meeting is a meeting of electors, not a Parish Council meeting, and Parish Councillors attend as members of the public.

The meeting must be chaired by the Parish Council Chair Person, if present, otherwise by the Vice Chair, or, if neither is present, a Chair Person is elected by the meeting.

Although anyone may attend the Annual Village Meeting, only electors can take part in a vote called by the meeting.
